From time to time, the aFISHionados run contests with great prizes, like credit towards your next order!

Photo Contest 2007 2008

The aFISHionados, in conjunction with the Winnipeg Fish Forum, are holding a year-long photo contest. 

Submit your entries for the fourth quarter's contest now - submissions close TBA (at 11:59PM CST).

There will be four submission periods throughout the year, with special guest judges selecting the winning entry for each session.   After the fourth session, the winners of each session will be posted and voted upon online to determine the grand winner.

 

Contest Rules:

  • Subject matter – Tropical fishes (no full tank photos)
  • Prizes - Quarterly winners will receive not only bragging rights, but a $50 fish credit with The aFISHionados; the Grand Prize winner will receive a further $50 fish credit.  Every person who submits a photo will be entered into a separate draw for another $50 fish credit at the end of the contest, just for participating!
  • Judging - TBA

 

Past Winners:

Congratulations to Gerry Verrier of Winnipeg, MB. His shot of his Tropheus in action was chosen as the winner for the first quarter. The honorary judge for the first session was Juan Miquel Artigas Azas of San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Juan Miguel is one of the world’s premier tropical fish photographers. 

Congratulations to Ray Quennelle of Winnipeg, MB. For the second straight contest a photo of a Tropheus has taken the prize, especially impressive considering the tastes of the judges. The honorary judge for the second session was Jeff Cardwell. Jeff Resides in Kokomo, Indiana and is an avid South American collector.
